A coma is a prolonged state of unconsciousness. During a coma, a person is unresponsive to his or her environment. Patients in a coma are unable to think consciously and lack awareness of their surroundings, but they do retain basic life support functions, such as breathing and circulation. A person in a coma may look healthy and appear as if they are sleeping, but they are unable to respond to people and things around them. A patient in a coma may exhibit some movement such as eye opening or grimacing in response to the environment; however, the patient does not have control or awareness of these movements. The person is alive and looks like he or she is sleeping. However, unlike in a deep sleep, the person cannot be awakened by any stimulation, including pain.
Common types of Coma –
• Persistent vegetative state - A long-term coma is often referred to as a persistent vegetative state. This can last for years, depending on the medical circumstances and the cause
• Brain death - This is an irreversible cessation of all brain functions. Brain death may result from a lasting or widespread injury to the brain.
• Medically induced - This type of temporary coma or deep state of unconsciousness is used to protect the brain from swelling after an injury. A patient is given a controlled dose of an anesthetic, under the close watch of Doctors.
Chakra therapy is based on the belief that your brain is the main operating system in the human body, which processes sensory information, regulates blood pressure, breathing and releases hormones. The spinal cord connects a huge part of the peripheral nervous system to the brain while the optic nerve transfers the visual information from the retina to the vision centers of the brain via electrical impulses. However due to our over analytical, non-liberal, rigid mind sets and definitions we refuse to accept and value the reality, for what it actually is. We constantly live in a state of delusion, completely alienated from people, society and the world. Such a condition manifests into this physical ailment.
Imbalanced Chakra related to Coma
The Chakra associated with Coma is the Sahasrara or the Crown chakra. This Chakra is located where the pineal endocrine gland is positioned i.e. at the top of the head. The primary function of pineal gland is to produce melatonin. Melatonin controls central nervous system, including sleepiness and wakefulness. When the Sahasrara Chakra is optimally active or energized, you feel connected to a higher power and sense that you are being watched over and cared for. You begin to know you deserve immense blessings and also feel immense gratitude for the universal love and appreciate yourself and others. This Chakra contains the power of being content and full of gratitude.
